The Subject Teacher Forum is an in-service teacher training programme for high school teachers in ICT Phase I and Phase II schools.

The objectives of the Subject Teacher Forum programme are to:

• Leverage technology to build teacher professional networks tat will evolve into a new model of teacher education

Creation/Review Process of Local Digital Resources - IT for Change (Note)

As one of the objectives of the subject teacher forum indicates, our aim is to enable creating resources by the teachers, as they are most equipped with the knowledge of the subject, local context and their students. In this effort, resources have been created by the teachers based on a template provided. Public Software Centre, IT for change also created four prototypes, two in science , one in social science and one in mathematics covering the following topics : Measurement, Light, Bhakti Movement and Fractions.

Geogebra is an interactive computer aided mathematical tool that connects Geometry, Algebra, Statistics and Calculus. Many animations can be made to visually stimulate understanding of mathematical concepts. These are some of the animations/lessons created keeping in mind the Karnataka mathematics syllabus and attempting to integrate usage of these tools with the regular chalk and talk teaching method for different topics.

KTurtle

KTurtle is an educational programming environment that aims to make learning how to program as easy as possible. To achieve this KTurtle makes all programming tools available from the user interface. The programming language used is TurtleScript which allows its commands to be translated.
